B.Design (Interior Design) is a four-year undergraduate programme designed to equip students with the creative, technical, and practical skills required for professional interior design practice. The course blends artistic expression with functional design principles, enabling students to conceptualize and create aesthetically appealing, sustainable, and ergonomically efficient interior spaces.

The curriculum covers design fundamentals, architectural drafting, material studies, space planning, furniture design, lighting design, and computer-aided design (CAD), along with exposure to color theory, building construction, and design history. Students engage in hands-on studio work, live projects, field visits, and industry internships to gain real-world experience.

By the end of the programme, graduates are prepared for careers in residential, commercial, hospitality, retail, and exhibition design, or to work as freelance designers, entrepreneurs, or pursue higher studies in design-related fields. 

Graduates of the Bachelor of Design (Interior Design) can pursue careers in interior design firms, architecture companies, real estate organizations, furniture industries, and design consultancies in roles such as:

• Higher Studies such as Master of Design (M.Des.), M.Sc. Interior Design, MBA, and specialized certifications in Interior Design, Furniture Design, Sustainable Design, and 3D Visualization.

Academic Qualification

10+2 (Senior Secondary Examination) from a recognized board such as CBSE or PSEB with minimum 50% aggregate marks (or 45% for SC candidates).

Alternatively:

A 10+3 Diploma in any stream (recognized by the Central or State Government) with the same minimum marks—i.e., 45% (or 40% for SC) in aggregate.

Age Limit

There is no upper age limit ; however, candidates must meet age criteria (if any) specified by the affiliated university or state admission authorities.
