Mechanical Engineering - CT Group of Institutions

Department - Mechanical Engineering

About the Department

Mechanical Engineering has the reputation of being an ever green, incessant and perpetually growing branch and its relevance is essentially undeniable. It deals with design and production of tools, machines and all other mechanical equipment used in any industry. Mechanical engineers use the principles of mathematics, material science, physics and economics to design, manufacture and maintain all the mechanical equipments. The motive of the Department of Mechanical engineering is concerned with all types of machinery in industries and all aspects of their mechanism and functioning, the design, development, construction, production, installation, operation and maintenance; such as large steam and gas turbines, components of thermal power stations, internal combustion engines, jet engines, machine tools, air conditioning and heating machines, refrigerators etc to name a few. They not only design and create new products, but also develop materials for them and ways of making them. The department has highly qualified, competent, dedicated and distinguished faculty members to impart quality education, project guidance and personality development through enhancement of communication skills and group discussions. Seminars are conducted to keep abreast of the latest development in the industry. With frequent industrial visits, our students are given fair opportunities to make up their mind for future career options.

Message

Mechanical Engineering plays a major role in structuring the real world, the systems we use, the means by which we commute and the energy that powers these to deliver the basic necessities of life. Mechanical engineers design, manufacture and maintain machinery used by all disciplines of engineering. This discipline has attracted outstanding individuals and helped in addressing the crucial technical challenges in the contemporary world. The career path of a mechanical engineer is largely determined by individual choice – a unique advantage in an ever-changing competitive world. The studies of mechanical engineers focus on material science, solid and fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, controls, hydraulic machines, design and manufacturing. To summarize, the versatility, wide-ranging scope and universal relevance of mechanical engineering opens up career avenues in all possible branches of the engineering profession.

The Department is providing the latest technology based facilities for conducting experiments and carrying out research. It has a team of highly qualified capable, matured and dedicated faculty members. We intend to carve a name in the top echelons of the academic & professional world. Our objective is not to merely produce professionals capable to serve their own needs but endeavor to serve the society with great concern for human values.
