CT Institute of Law, Shahpur, hosted its Annual Moot Court Competition, offering students a practical experience of courtroom proceedings and legal argumentation. The event aimed to bridge the gap between theory and practice and was judged by senior advocates from the Jalandhar Bar, who ensured a realistic courtroom environment through active questioning and critical evaluation.
The moot problem focused on the concept of mens rea in acid attack offences, requiring participants to interpret criminal law principles and evolving legal perspectives. The competition included written memorials and oral pleadings, where teams were assessed on legal research, argumentation, and courtroom presentation skills.
Students demonstrated strong analytical and advocacy skills, with judges emphasizing the importance of clarity, confidence, and courtroom etiquette.
Winners included:

  • Best Team: Team B Mooters (Ekjot Kaur, Arshnoor Kaur, Ayush Khuranna)
  • First Runner-Up: Dhruv Malhotra, Kamal, Harnoor Kaur
  • Best Mooter: Ekjot Kaur
  • Best Memorial: Ayush Khuranna

The event concluded with appreciation from the judges, highlighting the moot court as a valuable step toward producing practice-ready legal professionals.
